Calling all cars.. be on the lookout for the meanest muthafucka in breakbeat DEEJAY PUNK ROC!
The Brooklyn-born, UK based nu-breaks pioneer will be hitting Melbourne for one night only as Got Funk? launches its new weekly breakbeat side-show at Chicane's ZOO..
A seminal figure in the world-wide breaks scene for over 10 years, Punk Roc is the original pioneer of the nu breaks sound. Tracks like "My Beatbox", "I Hate Everybody" and "Blow My Mind" from albums such as "ChickenEye", "Thrift Store Classics" and "Spoiling It For Everybody" are still considered some of the best breakbeat tunes to be produced. With a flawless balance of rumbling bass lines, quirky samples and crafty rhythms, his mix sets explore everything from nu breaks to house and electro beats stitched together with seamless turntablist skills.
