Zephyr Timbre : News from the Pheonixes

After many twists, turns & loops, Zephyr Timbre is on an extended
sabbatical. Trying to push ahead with performing and album creation,
the ZT Crew have come to the realisation that a break is necessary. The
band has been on a truly massive five year journey with many highs, a
few lows and some major personal events in the mix. It has been a
difficult decision to make, but the reflection time is mandatory.

So what's happening in the interim, you may ask?

Shureshock is embarking on a voyage of discovery to the United Kingdom
where he will fully demonstrate his formidable MC skills alongside
world standard DJs. His first international circle of vinyl has just
been released through the NY label "Phuturistic Bluez" - the track is a
collaboration with Perth DJ/producer Greg Packer (who also remixed ZT's
hit "Abstrakt Fusion") called "A Wonderful Day Part 2". He will be
awaiting the call of "We have the power captain! All systems are go!!"
from the ZT production room.

For DakarDAN it is a time for honing his skills on the wheels of steel,
and getting back into his primary passion - production. He is
collaborating with DJs Shredlock, Matt Nugent, Rousey, and Matt Kitshon
(aka D-Tek-Shon) under the production name of Centrafugal Sounds (house
of breaks & broken house spin-out tunes).

Dakar has DJ appearances at the Empire Hotel monthly for Nusounds, and
at the Emerald Room in West End, as well as tandem 'pound for pound'
sessions with DJs at Fridays, GPO, The Empire and Monastery. You'll
still find him doing his bass manipulation & freaked out synth jamming
at Fresh 'n Funky at the Moonbar, and with the Vinyl Slingers and the
Naughty Crew...

Manta Ray & Porl DeVille have been busy working on two new projects.
The first is a chilled live experience dubbed Liquid [wax]. It involves
sultry beats with live vocals, keys and guitar, and features tracks by
Massive Attack, Rae & Christian, Erykah Badu and Bjork to name a few.
Liquid [wax] is currently resident at Sunbar (Fortitude Valley,
Brisbane - every Friday from 7pm). Check out the Upcoming Tour Dates
section on the ZT website for some honey smooth jams.

The second project is MyNinjaLover (a collective piloted by Manta,
Porl and talented producer/bassist Chris B), which will be arriving
soon at a venue near you armed with a fresh bunch of original tunes.
