Award Winning Electro-Rockers Super Massive Return Battlescarred To Play at Sonar Sydney

Award-winning electro-rock band Super Massive play a show on Sydney's northside at new venue Sonar Sydney in Milsons Point, with alterna-pop friends Captains and The Chaperones in support.

Entertaining electro/funk/rock band Super Massive return from a successful first Northern NSW & Queensland tour to play a show at Sonar Sydney on Saturday 16th February. Teaming with their good friends The Captains and indie rock duo The Chaperones, it promises to be a solid night of alternative-rock-pop music. Doors open 8pm. $12 at the door or through Moshtix.

Super Massive have plenty of tales & battlescars from the road, including a discoball injury, a cut hand from leaping a fence, a trail of property devastation courtesy of a karate-chopping furniture fiend in Coffs Harbour, and new friends in the Rufus Wainwright band, who checked out Super Massive's show at their Byron Bay gig and loved it, inviting them to their own show at the State Theatre.

Super Massive were awarded the "Best Alternative Artist" Award at the 2007 MusicOz Awards in November, for their evocative and soon-to-be-released synth/rock song “Fists”.

Creative, funky and highly entertaining, Super Massive deliver a powerful blend of dance and rock, meshing multi-layered synthscapes with the full-blooded lustiness of a rock band, for a huge and original sound.

The band's debut EP is due for release in March, however, a Limited Edition Pre-Release CD including the award-winning song "Fists" will be available for purchase at the show.

The band are also selling some sexy, glitzy, glamorous silver-sparkle-on-black band t-shirts to help fund a videoclip for the song.

Sonar Sydney is located at 1 Olympic Drive, Milsons Point, just beyond the Luna Park Face along the harbour boardwalk to Lavendar Bay. Ph: (02) 9033 7666. Web:
