Email Campaign to lobby against introduction of tafe fees

Email Campaign to support the rights to education for vulnerable people

Hello Everyone

We have set up an email campaign to lobby the Premier of NSW to NOT
introduce course fees for TAFE. The introduction of fees will have a
very painful effect on the most vulnerable in our community. For
those not familiar with Technical and Further Education (TAFE) TAFE
NSW, Australia - it currently enrols about 500,000 students across
the State and it provides many acces courses for the most vulnerable
and disadvantaged members of our community. The introduction of fees
will mean that many poor and disadvantaged people will not be able
to access reading, writing, numeracy and English langauge classes.
The letter in this campaign is targeting specifically Culturally and
Linguistically Diverse (CALD) people. This includes refugees who are
on Tempoarary Protection Visas (TPVs) who only recently have been
allowed to study in TAFE courses.

Please read the letter which will be sent to the Premier - Bob Carr,
the Treasurer - Michael Egan and the Minister of Education - Mr
Refshauge. A copy will also be sent to Simon Crean, the Opposition
Leader. For those who live outside Australia, please submit the
letter as well. This way the NSW State government will realise that
there some eyes watching from across the planet. The link is
