2004 Next Wave Festival Submission Deadline Friday
A reminder: Next Wave is currently seeking submissions for next year's
festival (to be held from the 18th - 30th May 2004). The deadline for
submissions is coming Friday 1st August. While there is a later deadline
(30th October), the sooner you get something to us the more we can do to
help you with your project.
The 2004 festival's theme is Unpopular Culture and we are looking for
innovative and engaging takes on that concept. Artists' briefing notes,
application forms and more information is available from the Application
Downloads Section of the Next Wave web site (www.nextwave.org.au). We are
currently seeking proposals from all artforms including music, visual art,
theatre, dance, performance, text, and new media - providing your project
can have an outcome as part of the festival next year.
Artists that are interested in submitting works are strongly encouraged to
get an application - even just a project overview or an expression of
interest - to us as soon as possible. If you have any questions about the
submissions process, feel free to contact our office.
Next Wave Job Update
In our last announcement, we put out a call for a Marketing Manager, a team
of Associate Producers, a Systems Administrator and a Site Curator and we
were overwhelmed by responses. Next Wave received over 260 applications and
we are still working through them all. If you applied for these positions,
the news is that we are still involved in selecting and shortlisting the
applicants and we hope to contact everyone, either way in the very near
future.
Thanks for your interest in Next Wave.
Marcus Westbury (Artistic Director) and Ruth Bain (General Manager).
