SUPER MASSIVE "GET ME OUT OF MY HEAD" SINGLE & TOUR
Sydney's alternative-pop/electro/rock band Super Massive have released an epic, wildly dynamic, experimental pop track called "Get Me Out Of My Head" which is out now on iTunes. The band will be touring through May, playing shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise and Brisbane from May 1st - 22nd.
The songwriting venture of singer/writer Malina Hamilton-Smith and drummer/composer Glenn Abbott (aka Bryan Ferrysexual, ex-Machine Gun Fellatio), Super Massive make highly creative, intense, exhilarating and sexy electro-alterna-pop music that's driven by brutally funky dance grooves, delivered with the lustiness of a rock band.
Get Me Out Of My Head is an intense ride - a song about escaping your thoughts and the technologically-driven world's virtual existence by getting back into your body... dancing yourself out of your brain.
The band have made an experimental videoclip for the song in collaboration with new media artist Harriet Birks (Itch-E & Scatch-E), which employs a very cool mix of video, multi-layered audio-triggered visuals, real time projections, stop frame photography and digital effects:

Get Me Out Of My Head is the follow-up to Super Massive’s 2008 debut self-titled EP, featuring the track “Fists In My Pocket”, which received community radio and TV play nationally, earned them a MusicOz Award for Best Alternative Artist and topped the Triple J Unearthed Dance Chart, seeing the band Unearthed as a Triple J Featured Artist. Busy touring Australia & Asia for three years with live bassist Daniel Bruce, playing festivals such as Australia Day in The Rocks 2010, Sea Festival Vietnam 2009 and BigSound 2009, they’ve received rave reviews, hot ticket recommendations & hit predictions, and have played alongside bands such as Bertie Blackman, DJ Sophie Sugar, King Tide, Ash Grunwald, Dappled Cities, The Dardanelles, Evermore, The Bakery and TZU. The band's live show is exciting, energetic and dynamic, with frontwoman Malina Hamilton-Smith described as a blend of Karen O, Siouxsie Sioux, Shirley Manson, Peaches and Kylie. Last year MX Magazine Sydney featured Super Massive on the cover, Time Off named them a band “On The Up” and Scout TV named them one of the Top 5 breakthrough bands of 2009 alongside Art Vs Science.
