DECOMPOSITION is the 7th release on SOUND PUNCH Records. This compilation CD features recent film score tracks by Melbourne-based composers, covering an extremely wide range of styles. Linking these composers is their exploration of eclectic styles of music as cinematic accompaniment. None of it sounds like `film music'

Developed by Coldcut and NomIg. (webmasters behind the Mutek festival website), Revolution:USA is an online, multimedia political art project created as a way to gather together artists around the world who have something to say about the state of American politics. It is intended to act as a catalyst for both audiovisual art and the development of public awareness surrounding politics and their effect on our lives. the last time lopez played at impermanent (august 2001) he left the audience stunned and the performance is still considered by many to be the best impermanent to date. this is not to be missed. Over the last twenty years Francisco Lopez has been creating a unique powerful sonic world, 'trying to reach an ideal of absolute concrete music'. Through what he once called 'the exploration of the universe of broad-band noise from the real world', his music arises from the processing of environmental recordings. visit http://impermanent.info for more info on the event or http://franciscolopez.net for info on the guest artist

ZEN ZEN ZO is once again offering BUTOH Workshops on Monday nights (7.30-9.30pm) at the Avalon Theatre in St Lucia, Brisbane, from July until November. Participants can join at any time, space permitting. "The passion of the Butoh dancer is an inner one. What you see on the outside is always infinitely subtle. you see a trace of the emotion, never the emotion itself. In the west we have a tendency to throw ourselves against walls as a way to indicate passion. The Japanese just show traces, not unlike their prints, their art of leaving traces on paper. They disclose only just enough to allow you to imagine an inner poetic landscape. This is much more interesting" email info@zenzenzo.com for more information
