West Side Asylum all ages hip hop show

On Friday 5 December at West Side Asylum 41 Moreland St Footscray from 7.00pm there will be an all ages hip hop show with Combat Wombat, Bass Bin Laden, Clearfella and MCs Elf Transporter, Raceless (Curse ov Dialect), Izzy, Lautaro, open mic. $5 admission this will be a benefit for the class action being launched against the South Australian police over the use of excessive force at the Beverly Uranium mine protest in 2000 where peaceful protesters were bashed, pepper sprayed and illegally detained.

Photojournalism short course

This 3-day short course starting Dec 1, aims to enhance the participants` photographic skills and increase their understanding of the way photographs are incorporated within the printed page. The course is designed to run over one week, with classes on Mon, Wed & Fri and practical assignments set for Tue & Thu. Topics covered include: composition and light; photographic critique; ways to photograph people on the street; professional and ethical issues around photojournalistic work; use of flash; getting the best from a modest range of equipment; professional photojournalism; marketing strategies - and others.

ARTV present 3 nights of film screenings NEWCASTLE

On the weekend of the 21st 22nd and 23rd November Activelyradical TV will be holding a series of film screenings at the Pod (TPI House - 231 King St) to help with production costs for "Beyond the Factory Walls" a unique multimedia theatre collaboration with an Indonesian factory workers theatre company from Feb to May 2004. Clan Analogue gets defocused with new compilation CD

Clan Analogue Recordings is proud to announce the release of its newest compilation CD, "Defocus". Three years in the making, "Defocus" brings together a hugely diverse collection of low resolution electronic productions from artists across Australia. Anti-production, incidental noise, low bit-rate recordings and recordings and analogue tape dropouts make sporadic appearances throughout the release, resulting in a CD that invites listeners to question their received notions of electronic production and to locate the sound inside the error messages. "Late Set" from Clan Analogue`s Dark Network

Dark Network is a collaboration between Bo Daley and Tim O`Loghlin, who have been working together in various musical incarnations since 1994. Having also worked in seminal outfits such as Critical Frequency, Clone, Terry Nation and Suspect, Dark Network have an impressive pedigree in Australian electronic music and are part of the Clan Analogue collective.
