Baggsmen (ex band The Hive) now a duo

BAGGSMEN have bid farewell to keyboard player Will Frasier who has has relocated to Seattle. BAGGSMEN started life as THE HIVE and fast gained a reputation as one of Australia's best live acts pioneering a genre-defying all-live sound with their first album 'Curiosity Flow' and then wowing critics with the follow up Triple J-featured 'Eleven Stages' that proved them to be impressive not only on stage but in the studio as well.

The remaining two members, Tony Buchen (frontman/bassplayer) and Lachlan Brahe (drums) are heading back in to the studio to begin work on Baggsmen's third record. Before get sucked into the studio vortex, they will play one show this Sunday 17 April at the Beach Road Hotel, Bondi with very special guest keyboard player Jerry Craib (bluejuice). scratch sessions with UK DJ Sarah Love

South Western Sydney Institute of TAFE, Outreach Unit, Granville College, Hype-in-Ackshun & Information & Cultural Exchange (ICE) present "scratch sessions with sarah love". All the way from London, Sarah Love has worked as a DJ for the past four years, setting new standards for aspiring DJ's, female or otherwise! Her musical accomplishments include composition, arranging, song writing, engineering and production. She has supported some of the best UK hip-hop acts, including JEHST, THE EXTENDED PLAYERS, MYSTRO and ROOTS MANUVA. She is an official 'MTV SOUNDSYSTEM' DJ, with whom she has toured across Europe. Cyclic Defrost Magazine CD compilation - call for submissions

Cyclic Defrost Magazine is compiling a CD of independent Australian electronic music, avant rock, experimental sound and oddball local hip hop. It will be released in June between issue 11 (end April) & 12 (August). The CD will be made available for FREE at the following European festivals - Sonar 2005 (Barcelona, Spain), Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria) and Popkomm (Berlin, Germany). Limited quantities will also be given to distributors, promoters, music media, magazines and radio in Tokyo and London. Any left will be distributed locally to media in Australia. Secrets of the City - Gumbramorra Swamp Thing! is a series of free community workshops where participants will create innovative site specific public artworks and ephemeral installations that will map and interpret unique sites of social, cultural, and ecological resonance within the footprint of the former Gumbramorra Swamp that extended across the suburbs of Marrickville, Sydenham, Tempe, St. Peters, and Newtown. Future Screen Mobile

FutureScreen Mobile investigates the potential of mobile phone devices and technologies as platforms for creation, distribution and presentation of screen based and new media art. Focusing on the development of skills and knowledge, FutureScreen Mobile consists of a series of workshops and master classes and a research component.
