Super Massive at Sinthetic, Golden Sheaf Hotel, Thursday 1st March

Free gig, cheap Becks beer and a new night for lovers of live electro/rock, with Sydney's newest dance/rock exemplars Super Massive playing the first show.

Super Massive play at the very first night of Sinthetic this Thursday 1st March, with Purple Sneakers DJs on the decks from 9pm.

Sinthetic is a new weekly electro/rock night at the Golden Sheaf, with no cover charge and cheap Becks beer on offer.

The perfect band to kick off the series, Super Massive is a stunningly huge sounding, creative dance/rock group from Sydney, with the distinction of bringing extra musical detail into their electro based songs with their beautiful, accomplished, live playing. They make dance/pop/rock songs with soul, beauty, hard filth, and gorgeous layers of synths and sounds.

I gave a two-and-a-half year old boy a cardboard box and told him to DESTROY it! I then made electronica entirely derived from the incident.

Net Neutrality video from Four Eyed Monsters and Caliblog

Four Eyed Monsters + Caliblog have created a video on the Net Neutrality issue happening in the USA. let's hope the telco's plan to control the internet is squashed quickly and cleanly. pass on the movie - see below.

http://blip.tv/file/103105

Spread the word by copy this code and paste to a blog, bulletin, your profile or comment. All are welcome to do anything they would like with the above edit or any future edits you make. Put it on you web page, burn a DVD to show at a gathering, show it in a theater before another movie, play it at a cafe, show it to friends on a portable player, or even put it on television. We've (Four Eyed Monsters + Caliblog) put a creative commons license on the video so that you don't have to ask permission, but it is cool to hear where it's showing and that knowledge is part of the feedback loop, so let us know in a comment. If people start showing it all over the place on their own accord, then we'll know the edit is really concise, if that happens on a smaller scale, it's possible the edit might be something only certain people have the backround to understand. Net Neutrality needs all the publicity it can get because major media companies, surprise, don't want to make it a big story. So blog about it, call your local newspaper, if you work in media get your editor to let you do something huge about it and feel free to contact us at anytime for our input or to get quote on why net neutrality is important to us as independent filmmakers who use the internet to distribute our work.

Uber Lingua @ Abercrombie Hotel (Sydney)

Sunday arvo-evenings at the Abercrombie Hotel

LAUNCHING NOVEMBER 19

As of Sunday December 19th, Uber Lingua is back with a weekly thing at the Abercrombie Hotel in Ultimo... arvos from 4pm in the Beer Garden thru summer, nice n close to our core mob...

and this time it's different... two house bands are melding with the crew of DJs to form a Sound System of Systems... Does that make sense? Well yes it does... coz the acts are the funked latin Dub-Hop crew SOCIAL PROGRESSION SYSTEM and Trevor Brown's electronics meets skankin' brass and strings ensemble the GYPSY DUB SOUND SYSTEM...

Both acts have impro woven within their genetic makeup and week by week they'll loosely form alongside the selectors and provide continuous Jazz-esque spontaneity across multi-hour sonic brackets... Wild card MCs, percussionists, instrumentalists and even whole other acts will be brought into this equation to add to each week's uniqueness... People like Black Symbol, Wire MC, Wei Zen Ho and Morganics... just to name a few.

Joining Mashy P, Sheerien and interstate interloper bP as a resident DJ is another leading figure of trans-lingual musical happenings in Sydney, Stu Buchanan... presenter of the legendary Fat Planet Radio show on FBi.

Alongside these are a league of culturally active DJs who will be rotated thru the place like there's no tomorrow. Individuals such as Prince V, Ollo DJs, James Locksmith, Spex, Man About Town, sakamoiz, Hezekiah and the like...

There'll be food to be had with once again a rotated list of international food caterers booked for the event so that each week a different culinary delight awaits... with the occasional Roo & veggies BBQ (when bP's in town)...

It all starts on Sunday December 19th with all residents bar Sheerien (who's overseas) playing... Both house bands will be in affect with Social Progression System appearing in their more cut back form SPS Crew.

It's free to get in before 7pm and $5 after that so mosey on down and join in on the opening night...
