One Word Movie is an on-line platform which organizes, based on user-supplied terms, the flood of images on the Internet into an animated film. A word turns into images, images turn into a movie. This project plays with the tension between on-line and cinematic approaches to images. What images are associated with what words? One Word Movie reveals a glimpse into the "collective psychology" of online cultures by showing patterns of word-image associations, as created by millions of people around the world.

Dreamlogs are an idea association engine. They propose another way to surf on the Internet, by disentangling the discourses that have interlaced over time. Dreamlogs were presented for the first time at the Read_Me 2004 festival, August 2004 in Aarhus, Denmark.

ctrl_alt_del was the first sound-art festival realized in Turkey, in September 2003. It was a collaboration between NOMAD, Marres, Hedah, and Istanbul Technical University Center for Advanced Musical Studies (MIAM). ctrl_alt_del hosted by NOMAD and Istanbul Technical University - MIAM is being held in spetember 2005 and will be an experiment in aural stimulation and urban awareness. Taking the city of Istanbul as the ground for this experimentation, ctrl_alt_del seeks to observe, activate and cultivate a series of idiosyncratic possibilities this city provides, under the rubric of the 'buffer zone'. NOMAD and MIAM would like to receive interesting, provocative, experimental and sophisticated works. About 10 pieces will be selected among the entries by a jury to be performed during the ctrl_alt_del 2 festival on 22 September 2005, in front of an international audience. read more for details or visit http://project-ctrl-alt-del.com

With the imminent release of their new single "Duck 'n Cover", Australian electronic producers Statler and Waldorf have teamed up with the talented DarcStorm production team to shoot their new clip. Taking place over two days in a private filming session at Brisbane's iconic Moon Bar at the Empire in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, the clip will be filmed in 16mm film format for national distribution and broadcast. Whilst as yet unreleased, early dub plates of "Duck and Cover" released to select DJ's have been generating a hype that's indicative of the momentum Statler & Waldorf have maintained through extensive gigging and festival performances such as Big Day Out and Queensland Music Festival.

The internet has been ablaze recently with talk of map products from Google and similar plans from Microsoft. These additions are really cool to look at but do not seem to offer real value or things to do in the worlds. As an avid gamer, I was questioning, haven't we seen similar things from games in the past. Last year we saw the release of True Crimes: Streets of L.A. and The Getaway (based in London).

Two years ago, experts predicted that by 2005, 3D games on mobile devices would be everywhere. They were premature - yet recent stirrings suggest the sleeping giant is finally waking. 3D World Magazine interviewed Kurt Uhlir - IGDA Mobile-SIG Chair and Chicago Technologist, Thor Gunnarsson - Ideaworks3D and David MacQueen - Screen Digest to get there thoughts. While the magazine is normally $15 or so on the stands, the IGDA is providing the full text of the article in PDF. If you are looking for a career in graphics, as I am, it is worth the read.
